LAS VEGAS (AP) — UNLV has finalized a $50 million deal to expand its campus by 42 acres.
The Las Vegas Sun reports the school closed the deal on the empty parcel north of McCarran International Airport and near the Las Vegas Strip. The sale was announced Wednesday.
It's still undetermined what will be built on the land. One option is to build a new stadium there, while another option is creating a campus village.

Stadium proponents want games closer to campus, rather than seven miles away at Sam Boyd Stadium.
The parcel half a mile west of the main school buildings is one of the few places the landlocked, urban campus can expand. Regents who oversee the school have emphasized that it was important to seize the rare opportunity to buy it.
