A former Bullhead City councilmember is running for state office.
The Mohave Daily News reports Sam Medrano plans to run for the Arizona House of Representatives in district 5.
Medrano, a Republican, served on the Bullhead City Council for almost 12 years, and previously sought to win election to state office in 2014.
He did not, however, make it out of the primaries that year.
