The Elko City Council has voted to table discussion on extending an ordinance banning medical marijuana dispensaries within city limits.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports council voted Tuesday 4-1 to table the debate.
The newspaper said Elko police officials and city staff spoke in favor of extending the ban, while some residents spoke in opposition to it.
City council will discuss the issue at its next meeting, and recommended more people share their thoughts with council before it votes once more.
