Kasich's First GOP Presidential Stump Stop In Reno Tuesday

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Ohio Gov. John Kasich is bringing his Republican presidential campaign to northern Nevada for the first time next week.

Kasich plans to meet with voters in Reno on Tuesday at the Washoe County Republican headquarters on South Virginia Street. The event open to the public begins at 1:45 p.m. Doors open at 1:15 p.m.

Kasich's visit comes six weeks before Nevada's Republican caucuses Feb. 23. He was in Las Vegas for a debate last month but has focused his campaign on Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucuses Feb. 1 and New Hampshire's Feb. 9 primary.

Earlier this week during a town hall meeting in New Hampshire, he broke from other GOP candidates hammering President Barack Obama over his policy in North Korea. Kasich said tensions have been brewing there for multiple presidencies and cannot be blamed solely on Obama.
