The Elko County Commission has criticized Gov. Brian Sandoval for not doing enough to deal with the sage grouse.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports the letter says in part Sandoval did not do enough to "solve critical harms" the commission believes Elko County will experience if the federal government's plan to protect the sage grouse goes through.
While the letter commended Sandoval for negotiating with Sally Jewell, the Secretary of the Interior, it suggested because land in question was administered by the US Forest Service, neither she nor her department has the authority to make these plans, as the Forest Service is under the Department of Agriculture's umbrella.
