Carson City Airport To Be Inspected For Mold, Asbestos

Carson City's Airport Authority has approved an inspection for mold and asbestos at an airport terminal.

The Nevada Appeal reports that Authority members voted Wednesday to approve a $745 inspection by Environmental Inspection & Control Services of Reno. It was the lowest of three bids.

Airport Manager Time Rowe says there's black mold in a roof area and part of the terminal is currently closed.

He estimates that a new roof would be $50,000 and says he wants to know where things stand.

Rowe says the airport might rent space or get a trailer if the terminal must close.
