Nevada Man Accused Of Threat To US Judge, Court In Arizona

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada man is in federal custody in Las Vegas following his arrest on allegations that he posted Facebook threats against a federal judge and promised to put a bomb at a U.S. District Court building in Phoenix.

Court records show that 40-year-old Jason Andre Willis made an initial court appearance Friday before a federal magistrate who scheduled a Nov. 30 preliminary examination of evidence in the case.

Messages left Tuesday for a deputy federal public defender representing Willis weren't immediately returned.

The name of the judge Willis is accused of threatening isn't made public in a criminal complaint.

But Willis posted biographical details about the judge who oversaw a civil lawsuit that Willis lost in 2006.

Willis is charged with making a threat using interstate communications.
