GOP Group's Debate Ad Criticizes Cortez Masto Over Iran

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Republican group plans to run a commercial during Tuesday's presidential debate criticizing Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto for her position on Iran.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee says the ad will run in Reno and Las Vegas markets during the Republican debate, which airs on the Fox Business Network.

Cortez Masto is Nevada's former attorney general. She's said she supports the nuclear deal with Iran, while her Republican opponent, Nevada Rep. Joe Heck, opposes it.

The senatorial committee calls Cortez Masto's position "reckless" and said it's out of line with most Americans' stance. The group's ads aren't authorized by any particular candidate.

Nevada Democratic Party spokesman Zach Hudson responded by saying Cortez Masto is a problem-solver and a vote for her opponent is a vote for gridlock.
