The effects of winter storms at the beginning of the week are being felt in northeast Nevada.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports snowfall at the Elko Regional Airport yesterday broke a nearly 60 year old record, as 5.2 inches were recorded.
Snowfall estimates in Carlin were between 8 and 10 inches, and much of that area was without power yesterday for a time as a result.

Damage to property and power lines was also reported as a result of downed tree limbs, though no injuries were reported.
