Assemblywoman Michele Fiore: “I Shut My Business Down”

State officials say they're closing out Republican Assemblywoman Michele Fiore's license to operate a home health care business after they were unable to contact her.

Inspectors with the state Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance said they stopped by Fiore's Las Vegas-based business, Always There 4 You, on Tuesday and found another business setting up shop there. They said they were also unable to reach her by phone, and will administratively close her license.

It's at least the third time this year inspectors have been unable to check in on the business.

Fiore released a statement about the closure, explaining that she closed her health care business with a Notice Of Dissolution last week.

"It is appalling to me that a state employee would go to the press with this kind of false story without having any details," Fiore said in the statement.

She also blamed state regulators for the closure, stating that fees, taxes, red tape and regulations made it difficult to stay in business.

Fiore filed initial paperwork Friday to run for Congress, but said Monday she's not totally sure she'll run.
