LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are reopening their investigation of the death of a cryotherapy spa employee in a cold chamber intended to treat pain and other ailments.
The announcement Wednesday came after police said Tuesday that an initial review of the death of Chelsea Patricia Ake-Salvacion found nothing suspicious and the case was closed.
Police Officer Jesse Roybal says there's still no immediate evidence of a crime.
The Nevada Division of Industrial Relations also said Wednesday that state authorities are reviewing the safety of commercial use of cryotherapy equipment.
Meanwhile, Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg says it'll take several weeks and blood toxicology results before he can say what killed Ake-Salvacion.
She apparently used a machine after hours Oct. 19 and was discovered dead the next day.
