CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has departed for a trade mission to China.
Sandoval left Wednesday for the trip sanctioned by the Council of State Governments, where he's president. He'll attend with representatives from Alaska, Idaho, Minnesota, Kansas and Delaware, as well as his chief strategy officer Dale Erquiaga and economic development director Steve Hill.
The trip is focused on the environmental sciences and the commercial use of technology. Sandoval said he'll be discussing pollution, water use and potential commercial opportunities for the Desert Research Institute.
He's also planning to see the famous Terracotta Army sculpture collection before he returns on Oct. 25.
Sandoval visited China on official business in 2012. His most recent trade mission was a three-week visit to five European countries this summer.
