Police say two North Las Vegas SWAT officers were wounded by a shotgun blast and the man who fired at them was killed in a shootout outside a home during a domestic argument-turned-hostage situation.
North Las Vegas police Officer Steven Wiese said Wednesday the two officers were treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released after the brief standoff that began a little after 5 p.m. Tuesday in a neighborhood near Canyon Springs High School.
Two other adults and three young children who live in the home weren't hurt.
The names of the gunman and officers weren't immediately made public.
Wiese says the man came out of the home with the shotgun and fired at least once at police.
