New Web Site Features Guide On Lake Tahoe Bicycle Trails

STATELINE, Nev. (AP) — The founder of the Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition has launched a new online bike guide complete with maps, trail ratings, photos and route descriptions.

The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports Ty Polastri says fall is one of the best times to ride in the Sierra because of cooler temperatures, less-crowded trails and brilliant autumn colors. But for those new to the area, finding the right trail can be a daunting proposition.

The new site, www.biketahoe.org, includes about 70 of the area's most popular rides divided into categories based on the rider's ability and type of bicycle.

The site went live earlier this month with joint funding from the Nevada Commission on Tourism, El Dorado County and the City of South Lake Tahoe, California.
