Purported Home Intruder Dies; Las Vegas Police Investigates

Las Vegas police say they're investigating the death of a man who appears to have been fatally injured during an attempt to break in to an apartment.

Police say a tenant summoned police about 7:30 p.m. Monday and reported a break-in at an apartment on Swenson Street. That's east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Police say the tenant also had injuries from an apparent fight.

The unconscious man was pronounced dead at nearby Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center. His name wasn't immediately made public.

The tenant tells police a woman knocked on the door and asked to use the bathroom before the intruder entered and the fight began.

Police say the woman ran away. She's being sought as a witness and person of interest in the investigation.
