Las Vegas Metro police say a police officer was shot near Rainbow and Alta and a suspect who escaped has been captured.
KSNV-TV reports police received a call about armed men in the caller's backyard at the 6700 block of Oveja Street.
The two officers who responded were ambushed when entering the backyard.
After a search with road blocks, both suspects are now in custody and roads in the area have been re-opened.
