Ex-Reno Casino Security Guard Gets 6 Months in Club Death

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A former security guard at a Reno casino lounge will serve at least six months in jail after he pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of a man he threw to the ground during a disturbance at the club in December 2013.

Stefan Johnson originally was charged with second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Victor Victoria-Acevedo at the Eldorado's BuBinga Lounge during a Santa Crawl celebration.

The Reno Gazette Journal reports as part of a plea agreement accepted in April, Johnson also most pay $5,000 in restitution.
