Man Charged With Operating Illegal Gambling Site From Nevada

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Attorney General Adam Laxalt is announcing a criminal case against a man accused of running an illegal poker site from Nevada.

Laxalt announced Tuesday that 36-year-old Bryan Micon was charged this week with operating an unlicensed interactive gambling site. The class B felony charge carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Micon was operating the poker site Seals With Clubs, which used the online currency Bitcoin. Authorities executed a search warrant in February, and the site was shut down.

Officials say Micon later moved to Antigua, and a warrant is out for his arrest.

Micon's lawyers did not have immediate comment on the case on Tuesday.

Gambling regulators say the case is the first state-level criminal prosecution of its kind in Nevada.
