Betty Willis, Designer Of 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' Sign, Dies

Betty Willis, the woman who designed the iconic "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign, has died. She was 91.

8 News Now reports Willis died at her home Sunday.

She spent most of her life in Las Vegas before moving back to Overton in 2008.

While probably most known for designing the welcome sign, she was also responsible for the signs at Moulon Rouge and Blue Angel Motel.

Funeral services are planned for Friday in Overton at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 226 W. Thomas Ave.
