National Finals Rodeo Sets Attendance Record

Organizers say the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo attracted more people than it ever has in its 30 year history in Las Vegas.

Officials with Las Vegas Events said in a press release Monday that 177,565 people attended events during the 10-day series at the Thomas & Mack Center.

That was about 1,000 more than the number of people who attended in 2013 when the last record was reached.

The event was at risk of moving to Florida until Las Vegas Events signed a 10-year agreement with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association earlier this year. Organizers have said the event has a $100 million economic impact on the Las Vegas area.

The annual series features the top competitors in riding, roping and racing categories based on PRCA's world standings.
