Shoot Antelope Illegally, Lose Gun

What penalties can one face when shooting an antelope illegally in Nevada?

Bryan Iverson of Spring Creek in Elko County was accused of killing an antelope last August. Earlier this week he pleaded no contest to a gross misdemeanor poaching charge and was fined fifteen hundred dollars plus had to give up his gun and the antelope. The Nevada Department of Wildlife says they use these forfeited guns for department programs such as predator control or sell them for other equipment.

Iverson told the judge he killed the animal by accident. The judge told the man, pay more attention next time.
