A Utah University Changes Fight Song

The University of Utah is changing its fight song.

A task force of students, faculty, and alumni led the debate to get the school to change a couple of controversial lines in the school's fight song. The line "our coeds are the fairest" will become "our students are the finest," and the line "no other gang of college men" will be replaced with "no rival band of college fans."

The Associated Students of the University of Utah assembly had asked for a public dialogue about revising it to be more inclusive. The song, written in 1904, is four stanzas long.
