UNLV Stadium Will Require Tax Dollars

A 50,000 seat stadium on the UNLV campus, whether open-air or domed, will require tax dollars. The consulting company Conventions Sports and Leisure, told the university's stadium board last week that public funding along with stadium income and donations would be needed to make the project happen.

Stadium costs are estimated between $500 and $700 million depending on the type of stadium. The UNLV board now has to find a way to propose a tax plan to the state legislature next year.
