There is now a clearer picture of where medical marijuana dispensaries will be allowed in the city of Las Vegas. Yesterday city council members voted on the new zoning requirements for dispensaries, cultivation facilities and production facilities. Those requirements will designate that any medical marijuana businesses must be 1000 feet from schools, 300 feet from parks and community centers, and 300 feet from churches.
Dispensaries will have to be located in commercial areas and will be allowed on Fremont Street east of 8th Street as well as on Las Vegas Boulevard. There will only be 12 dispensaries allowed in the city.
