Drones At Zion

Zion National Park is being invaded - by drones.

Park officials said Monday that the use of drones is on the rise and they want to remind people - that's an illegal activity. Park superintendent Jim Milestone said the use of drones is having an adverse effect on wildlife. He pointed to a particular case where a drone scared a herd of bighorn sheep which ended with some young sheep being separated from their mothers. Milestone also said visitors are complaining that drones are ruining the natural peace and serenity.

Flying drones at the park is punishable with up to six months in jail and up to five-thousand dollars in fines.
