Roseman University of Health Sciences is entering the battle against substance abuse and depression. On Wednesday officials with the organization announced a new research center with a focus on these issues.

Nevada is currently fifth in the nation in suicides and fourth in drug overdose mortality rates. The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that Dr. Jeffrey Talbot, an associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences for Roseman’s College of Pharmacy, will run the new center.
