Another Downtown Casino Avoids Strike

As a possible strike looms over downtown Las Vegas, the Culinary and Bartenders Union have reached an agreement with another property. Union officials this morning announced a tentative five-year deal with the El Cortez Hotel and Casino. This deal is similar to the one with the Golden Nugget, Fremont Hotel and Casino and Main Street Station. The unions remain in talks with The D, Four Queens, Binion’s, the Plaza, Las Vegas Club and Golden Gate. Union workers are scheduled to strike June 1 if deals with those properties are not finished before that.
