The development across from Red Rock Casino that sat empty the last six years are now set to open in the next few months with a new name. Developers with the Howard Hughes Corp. announced Thursday the project name was changed to Downtown Summerlin and will open October 9th. The 400-acre project includes shops, restaurants, offices and housing.
The former developer General Growth Properties halted work on the project in 2008 and filed bankruptcy in 2009.
