Las Vegas City Council Votes For Horse-Drawn Carriages

That clippity-clop sound you’ll soon hear echoing through 4 th street is a parade of horse-drawn carriages carting around tourists.

Last Wednesday, Las Vegas city council voted 4-3 to allow a private business to begin operating horse tours, ironically just as there’s a movement in New York City to get rid of the horses, citing inhumane conditions.

Opponents to the plan say it’s not good for the horses and would add more traffic to already congested streets. Those in favor say it will add jobs and promote tourism.
