Inventing the Modern-Day Canary Bird for Mines

A group of physics students won the Sontag Entrepreneurship Award and $50,000 for their invention.  Their device tests the safety of air, and mining companies are already lining up to order them.  We talk with one of the winners about how the device works, why it will change the face of mining, and where else it can be applied.
