Discovering Life on Mars with Dr. Steven Squyres

In January 2004, Steven Squyres thrust both his arms in the air as he made history.  He was in charge of the Mars Exploration Rover Project, and two of his rovers had landed successfully on the Red Planet.  They took photos of sunsets and found evidence there was once water on Mars - a discovery that helped spark interest again in space exploration.  Dr. Steven Squyres will be honored at the 25th annual Desert Research Institute (DRI) Nevada Medal dinner on April 26 at the Aria Resort and Spa.  He joins us to talk about that landmark discovery, the future of space exploration, and why he recently spent over 24 hours underwater as a deep sea "aquanaut."

GUEST

Steven Squyres, PhD, Principal Investigator of Mars Exploration Rover Project (MER); Prof of Astronomy, Cornell University
