Kate Cotter

Every month or so on State of Nevada we’re joined by Willobee, the program director and afternoon music host at Nevada Public Radio’s NV89.

Today, we discuss - and hear -  the music of Nevada singer-songwriters Antonia Marquee, Kate Cotter, and Maria Estrella.

Antonia Marquee

"Antonia is basically an R&B singer. She is originally from Philly. She did her music in Los Angeles for a while and now she lives in Las Vegas."

"She's been in Las Vegas since this past April and additional good things have happened for her since she moved to Las Vegas. She says that after just a month there she found the love of her life and now music partner. He's singer-songwriter Tylor Scott and they'll soon be releasing some music together."

Kate Cotter

"Kate is a Reno-based singer. She is a native of Reno and she's received so much acclaim over the years."

"We love Kate. She has been among the list of best musicians in Northern Nevada. She's received all kinds of awards and honors, including a Nevada Arts Council fellowship and a Sierra Arts Foundation performing arts grant."

Maria Estrella

"[She] is originally from New Jersey and she writes and arranges all of her own songs. Her move to Las Vegas and the stimulus that you guys call the Strip that was the inspiration for [her] song "Neon Lights"

She refers to herself as an electronic music vocalist. She's got training in classical voice but she's also been the vocalist for a couple of rock bands and as a kid, she listened to a lot of classic rock."
