Judicial District Court Suspends Trials Over Coronavirus Concerns

Jury trials in Clark County’s Eighth Judicial District Court are now on hold until November 30, the court announced this week.

Trials that are currently in progress will continue until they are concluded, while those scheduled to start now through November 30 will be on hold.

The break is in response to Gov. Steve Sisolak's plea for people to stay home to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Chief Judge Linda Bell’s administrative order also includes tougher coronavirus safety measures, including everyone on the property must be masked at all times, except for employees eating or drinking on break.

Masks with vents or made out of mesh will not qualify, and those wearing face shields must also wear a mask. In-person filings are also suspended.
