Gunman Who Fired On Las Vegas Police Officers At Large

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are searching for a gunman accused of opening fire on officers.

Authorities say officers on the city's east side were dispatched around 3 a.m. Monday to an unrelated call about a disturbance at an apartment complex.

As they were serving a temporary protective order, a man approached and fired a weapon.

Capt. Sasha Larkin says one officer returned fire and the suspect fled on foot. A chase ensued during which the suspect opened fire again. According to police, the suspect was able to get away.

None of the officers involved reported injuries.
