Clark County Shuts Down 11 Non-Essential Businesses

Clark County spokesperson Dan Kulin told the Las Vegas Review-Journal the county has shuttered 11 non-essential businesses in the first two days that Gov. Steve Sisolak's order went into effect.

The governor has ordered casinos and other businesses that are not essential to the health and safety of the community to close in an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

At first, the governor strongly suggested non-essential businesses close but when many didn't he change it to an order. He allowed local jurisdictions to enforce the rule and possibly fine businesses that didn't comply.

According to Kulin, the business license department visited 71 businesses, 60 businesses voluntarily complied with the governor's order.
