Reno Gazette-Journal Moving To New Downtown Headquarters

The Reno Gazette-Journal has signed a lease at a high-rise in downtown Reno to house its news and advertising operations, its first new headquarters in nearly 40 years.

The newspaper moved to its current location east of downtown in 1981. It was located downtown on West Street before that, when it was known as the Nevada State Journal and Reno Evening Gazette.

The move to the Palladio building on the Truckee River at First and Sierra streets is expected to be complete by March.

The city bought the old building with plans to turn it into Reno's police headquarters.

Sink your teeth into our annual collection of dining — and drinking — stories, including a tally of Sin City's Tiki bars, why good bread is having a moment, and how one award-winning chef is serving up Caribbean history lessons through steak.
