Plan To Redraw School Zoning Lines Draw Parents' Ire

Las Vegas parents are opposing a plan to redraw attendance zoning lines in Summerlin for next school year.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports parents spoke out at a meeting Monday night at Rogich Middle School in Summerlin.

The proposals being put forward would move new sixth-graders to Becker and Johnson middle schools instead of Rogich Middle School.

The district says Rogich already has an overcrowding issue, which is likely to become worse with new development in the area. Rogich is currently at 118 percent capacity.
