Nearly 398,000 people lack health coverage in Nevada according to a report released this week by the Guinn Center for Policy Priorities.
The state ranks 6 th highest in the nation for the rate of uninsured at 14 percent. That’s after the state saw a 30 percent drop in the number of uninsured residents between 2009 and 2017 as a result of federal health care reform.
The report notes nearly half the uninsured are eligible for coverage through Medicaid or the state insurance marketplace.
