Henderson’s proposed annual budget includes money for a facility for the Vegas Golden Knights, according to city officials.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the city expects to pay for about half of the proposed facility in the Water Street District, which has an estimated total cost of $22 million.
The proposed complex would be built on the site of the existing Henderson Convention Center at Water Street and Atlantic Avenue.
The city would have access to meeting space in the facility, according to Henderson’s assistant finance director Jill Lynch.
The venue would also be open to the public for tournaments and youth camps.
The Henderson City Council is scheduled to vote on the city’s budget on May 21..
