Rosen Addresses Joint Session Of Nevada Legislature

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Jacky Rosen told Nevada legislators there is no issue that affects state residents more than health care.

The Democrat made the comment during a joint session of the Nevada Senate and Assembly on Monday. She says Nevada ranks near the bottom in access to care, in part due to a physician shortage that particularly affects rural areas.

Rosen also urged transparency for drug pricing, saying that "no person should be forced to decide between paying their bills or paying for their life-saving medication."

She also thanked Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak and lawmakers for prioritizing the push to give state workers the ability to collectively bargain.

The U.S. Senator also condemned the secret shipment of weapons-grade plutonium from South Carolina to a nuclear security site in Nevada.
