NV Energy has filed a lawsuit against the Public Utilities Commission over a tax issue that could be worth tens of millions of dollars.
The lawsuit was filed two weeks ago and accuses state regulators of engaging in unlawful rulemaking over how to treat accounting of federal income tax owed on power plants and other investments of NV Energy.
An NV Energy executive told the Nevada Independent it was the first time in a decade the utility had appealed a PUC decision to the judicial system.
