New Commission Members Sworn In, Kirkpatrick Named Chairwoman

The Clark County Commissioners selected Marilyn Kirkpatrick to be their new chairwoman and swore in three new members on Monday.

District Court Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez swore in Commissioners Tick Segerblom, Justin Jones and Jim Gibson at the meeting.

The former chairman, Steve Sisolak, was today sworn in as Nevada’s 30 th governor, leaving one vacancy remaining on the seven-member commission.

Sisolak is expected to soon name his own replacement.

Commissioners represent geographic districts in the county and serve staggered four-year terms. They oversee all of unincorporated Clark County, which includes the Las Vegas Strip.
