Nevada To Collect Casino, Pot Licensee Harassment Policies

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's new Democratic governor is ordering state-licensed casino companies and pot dispensaries to provide to regulators their written sexual harassment and discrimination policies.

Gov. Steve Sisolak signed an order Wednesday giving gambling and marijuana license holders until May 1 to turn over copies of policies to the state Gaming Control Board and the Department of Taxation.

The policies will go to a sexual harassment and discrimination task force that Sisolak created with his first executive action after being sworn in on Monday. It's headed by the governor and state Attorney General Aaron Ford.

Sisolak spokeswoman Christina Amestoy says a summary of the policies will be made public.

Sisolak says Nevada regulation of casino and pot industries depends on public trust, and he intends to ensure employees are comfortable and safe at work.
