The Las Vegas Monorail Company has submitted construction permits for its planned one-mile extension from the MGM Grand to Mandalay Bay.
Clark County commissioners have already approved the roughly $23-million extension project and will now need to approve the permits before construction can get underway.
The added stop is expected to boost ridership by connecting the 3.9-mile route to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center while bringing riders within walking distance of the Raiders stadium, which is currently under construction.
