Las Vegas Monorail To Resume Operations By End Of May

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Las Vegas Monorail will resume operations at the end of the month after remaining closed since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority announced Tuesday that it will begin selling tickets for the monorail, which is set to reopen May 27 at 7 a.m.

The authority purchased the elevated electric transit system out of bankruptcy in December for about $25 million. It runs about 4 miles from MGM Grand Las Vegas Hotel & Casino to SAHARA Las Vegas.

Passengers will be required to wear face masks and maintain social distancing when possible.
