Filthy Conditions In Homes For Mentally Ill Not Reported In Southern Nevada, Investigation Finds

A further investigation into the deplorable living conditions found in state funded homes for the mentally ill found top-to-bottom failures at the two state agencies in charge of them.

The Nevada Health and Human Services  conducted an internal investigation after a legislative audit found filthy and unsafe living conditions in 37 houses operated by mentally ill clients.

This follow up investigation was delivered to Governor Brian Sandoval, and found that state leaders ignored the initial findings of the audit, and did little to correct the problems after home visits.
