Online Petition Demands Metro Release Video From Michael Bennett Incident

An online petition is demanding Metro Police release all video evidence and names of officers involved in a high-profile incident with NFL player Michael Bennet on the Las Vegas Strip last month.

KLAS-TV reports the petition was created by the co-founder of the Black Lives Matter Global Network and had more than 63,000 signatures as of this morning.

Bennet posted a letter on Twitter describing the incident in which he said Las Vegas Metro Police threatened him and used excessive force when he was trying to flee what sounded like gunshots outside of the Cromwell Hotel after the McGregor Mayweather fight.

The Seahawks defensive lineman claims he was targeted because is black, while Metro officials said that race is not a factor in the incident.
