CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Allegiant Air has announced it is ending discount service to Las Vegas at Casper-Natrona County International Airport, effectively slashing the number of cities served out of the airport by one-third.
Allegiant Air currently offers two flights per week to Las Vegas. Those services will end on Jan. 1.
Allegiant's withdrawal will cost the airport $26,000 per year in landing and rental fees. Airport director Glenn Januska said the airport might also see other losses as a result of Allegiant leaving the market, such as fewer passengers paying for parking or eating at restaurants.
The Casper airport is one of several small air markets to lose Allegiant Air in the past week. Service has also been eliminated to Youngstown, Ohio, and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
