Titus Presents Equal Treatment Act For Veterans, Spouses

Nevada Congressional Representative Dina Titus today introduced legislation to ensure equal access to Veterans Administration benefits for all married couples, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

The bill, called the Veteran Spouses Equal Treatment Act, seeks to modernize the United States Code to ensure equal access for all veterans and their spouses. Introduction of the bill follows leaked executive orders from the Trump Administration that target the LGBTQ community and same sex couples, and the President’s order directing Attorney General Jeff Sessions to issue federal guidance to interpret religious liberty protections in federal law.
