Crime In Elko Drops 20 Percent In 2016

The latest data from Elko show severe crime was down in the city by 20 percent last year as compared to 2015.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports property crimes are also on the decline, as are less severe crimes like DUI cases and disorderly conduct.

One area where crime has increased, though, is cases of forcible rape.
